Cropped (with some sneaky extra pattern images):
In response:
Liz feedback:
ie make the pride into one of the background images (rooly like the small cap awkwarddesign)
and insert 'between' between somewhere. Also I accidentally kept paintbucketing the background with white creating this flood of pixellation that has effected the middle postcard the most, I quite like how it jaggedies its edges and makes it appear as if its emerging from digitalia, another possible option :)
New version:
And with Pride and Venue additions (I am a really bad graphic designer! And not even in a good way. Sigh):
Just added a new stairwell poster!
ReplyDeleteAKA: O'HERE
ReplyDeleteLooking fresh! Really like the PINK. Maybe coming soon changes to our dates and mention of during Pride? Get you map from ?? Physics from / North projects ? Then maybe it needs less room at the top / more room at the bottom for this info.
ReplyDeleteI kept the coming soon part because then it is also a movie poster. Changing it to only "coming soon" might be better though. And I was thinking about it as a work, not as promo. Or maybe that is a bit blurry. But adding dates and info about the maps and stuff would take away the status it has as a work.
ReplyDeleteLooking nice. I'm missing the mini background shaving brush, though you know how attached I am to that thing. What do you think about just having 'Coming soon' at the bottom and shift Ōtautahi somewhere else, maybe the middle postcard? I'm not sure what O'Here means? I'm O'Slow sometimes... I think dates could work if they were more like an object, say a date button badge in background, er, maybes?
ReplyDeleteYip, sounds good. I am thinking that another row of mini-objects at the top, so Ms. Shaving 2016 can go there! I will work on that now. O'HERE was me being nerdy about the OHERE left over from INCOHERENT in the drop-in sample. Very much a product of looking at an image in photoshop too bloody long. Here here!
ReplyDeleteOh, ha, I just noticed that the brush indeed is there already, on the left. But perhaps a less partial appearance would be appropriate.
ReplyDeleteJust added two new versions. What do you all think? xxM
ReplyDeleteNew image up in response to your addition LA. My photoshop is stuck in caps, so, uuum, THAT'S WHAT I'LL BE DOING FROM NOW ON.
ReplyDeleteYES! THAT'S PERFECT LIKE THAT. + STRANGELY BUNCHED UP AT THE BOTTOM, AWKWARD DISTRIBUTION OF NEGATIVE SPACE SEEKS TOO MANY FONTS FOR ART STATUS SERI(ou)ES. HEART. CAN YOU CHECK ON THE DIMENSIONS OF THE CANVAS THOUGH< IT SUDDENLY LOOKS ELONGATED>>>
ReplyDeleteOh, no, you are totally right. Some serious height needs to be shaved off. Damn. Will work on it now. M
ReplyDeleteCropped version added to top of post. I am happy, and think the whole image should have a white boarder like the blog gives it. Truly classy design move.
ReplyDeleteHey RO, it would be great to get your feedback on the Stairwell poster options also. You are having all your email xmases at once!
ReplyDeleteA stunner! Cropped version looking sooo handsome Marnie. Also like the white border. For me the 'OHERE' is the second most prominent bit of text I look at after Party Poly simply because of the size/centre-page alignment and black font - could we situate it more in relation to the 'C' in AtCS so that it can be read more explicitly as a former flame of 'incoherent'?
ReplyDeleteHey RO, I hear ya. The only thing is that I am working from the drop-in image from the blog, i.e., it's flat as the day is short. So perhaps we can ask this of CN in terms of file prep? So with that note, the image is signed off?
ReplyDeleteYes, sounds like a plan Marnie. Sign off from me on that note xxxR
