Welcome to our digital studio! All the Cunning Stunts started this blog as a working space for Woahmancester (A Road Movie of Intrepid Dimensions), a public image work visible along Manchester Street in Ĺtautahi/Christchurch, Aotearoa/New Zealand (24 March - 23 April 2016). You will also find parallel projects weaving in and out of the conversations documented here. Comments are open and faq's welcome, but sexist, racist, homo- and transphobic trolls can go jump in the lake.
check proof 07 here — this one is set up as an AI - it is just an initial proof for layout, I will properly prepare the images in about 1 hr. I didn't put the black shadow at the bottom - is that neccesary? Plus, would you like to put a black barcode in the top right corner?
It's looking super nice, CN. I do think the black shadow is needed -- the image looks too 'good' to me without it. Plus, and perhaps this was something you were going to do in the next round, but I remember the first version had kind of messy disintegration on the main ParT's text. I will upload it now to this post just in case you don't know what I mean.
I agree that the texture in the front font is really important. It undoes the potential professional skin of the image, and makes it kind of rough, urgent, hacked. I would vote to keep the font texture.
Hi Clare, thanks for your work on this, is looking sexy. I'm particularly keen to keep as close to the original as possible for this one. This includes having 'Goes Public' over the face, and shadow at bottom. In the original I also like that the background is a little dark/grungy looking - the branches are blacker for example and the green moss shows through the white water a bit more. Though I do like in the current one how things are a bit clearer, like the shaving brush and the gleaming silver bath tap. Not sure about everyone else but I also quite like the garish turquoise colour of the 'she she and she' text in original and the font texture on the front text, which seems to have a turquoise outline as well? Loving the current slant of the lacy head and the angle of her eyes!

ReplyDeleteyes, i know what you mean... is that super important to you all because I chose to go simple with the amount of time we have left.
Deletetough call. can we have a snapshot with the old text layer added and the "goes public" in front (4 legibility of message)?
Delete(texture in font so important to me that I spend too many hours making the text into a layer from a flattened image)

ReplyDeleteHey RO, just passed your feedback to Clare. All good. For the text over the face, I think Clare got confused by LA's gif!
ReplyDeleteSuper, thanks Marnie - gif-usion, so pleasurable in a way =) Please pass on my admiration to CN for all her amazing work and patience! xxxR
